IF this is a reasonable workaround, does anyone know what exact settings I would need to set on the Focusrite Saffire prior to connecting it to the x8p, as well as Console settings?Ģ) If it is absolutely necessary to have the Focusrite connect to the iMac (i.e. The application includes all the necessary drivers and software utilities in order to run the firewire Saffire range of Focusrite interfaces. ġ) Is this something that has a work around by simply configuring the Focusrite using my old MacBook, "saving (those) settings to hardware" on the Saffire, and then simply connecting via ADAT to the x8p. Saffire MixControl is a reliable and intuitive application whose main purpose is to help users control a multi-channel mixer with ease. Firewire is quite old and I guess since windows already provides the drivers for firewire, the PCI card manufacturer relied on windows for matching it's chipset signature to the necessary driver. The accompanying software application, Saffire MixControl provides further recording, routing and monitoring options, as well as the ability to control global hardware settings such as sample rate and synchronisation. I have a Saffire Pro 24 DSP and since updating to macOS Catalina, my Saffire does not work. I have tried connecting the Focusrite to the x8p via ADAT with no success in receiving a mic signal, although I do not know the correct settings for this sort of connection between these two interfaces. The Saffire Mix Control was then able to detect the saffire without any issues and I was able to record instantly. I am still able to connect the Focusrite to my old TB2 Macbook (via FW->TB2 dongle) and access/edit settings in Saffire Mix Control without problem, however I am unable to connect the Focusrite to my new TB3 iMac (via TWO dongles: FW->TB2, TB2->TB3) to access/edit settings in Saffire Mix Control or Console. I have been happily using the Saffire Mix Control (version 3.7) to set up my Saffire Pro40 on a Mac (MacOS 10.14. Ive had very few problems using it with the Mac Mini running Catalina, primarily. Both computers (Macbook and iMac) have been updated to Catalina. If this does not allow your interface to appear in Focusrite Control, then please Contact Support. I'm a drummer (that's not the only problem ) and I have a 2019 iMac TB3 as my home studio computer. Please right-click on 'ControlServer.exe' and click ‘Run as Administrator' The service should now start, and Focusrite Control should recognise your interface. I'm very excited to be joining the UA family with the recent addition of an x8p to my home studio setup!
